The Front Climbing Club of Salt Lake City offers instruction and certification for Boy Scout Troops members, ages 12-18, to earn the BSA Climbing Merit Badge. Each scout receives personal instruction to satisfy all requirements for the merit badge including:
- Safety and Emergency Precautions
- Care of Rope and Equipment
- Knot Instruction
- Climbing Technique
- Top Rope Climbing
- Belaying
- Rappels
- Bouldering
Each troop will receive two 2-hour sessions.
PRICE: $35 per scout with a six-scout minimum. Price covers the climbing wall, instructions, and equipment rental fees.
SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT! Instruction is given by professional and certified climbers. We want to teach the scouts how to be safe, responsible climbers, and how to have fun and enjoy the sport.
Each participant must have a signed liability waiver prior to starting the sessions.

Hold your your next scout outing or troop meeting here at The Front. The Boy Scouts of America has negotiated a unique and inexpensive climbing opportunity for scouts. Any BSA Group of 8 or more can climb at our gym for only $9.00 each + $3 for all equipment! To take advantage of this great offer, please reserve a time at least 48 hours in advance.
Each participant must have a liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guarding prior to starting the sessions.
